Details for the 2019 season
|
---|
After our significant year of 2018, our 40th year since the play was revived by Bollin Morris in 1978, we've now also completed our 2019 season.
As always we started at the Saracen's Head in Warburton on 1st November and took the play out for six nights. So after 1st November that was Saturday 2nd, Wednesday 6th, Thursday 7th, and Friday the 8th to finish with our our long day on Saturday 9th November. This again featured our performance at the Warburton Autumn Fair that takes place in the afternoon at St Werburgh's Church on Bent Lane. Most of our performances are in pubs in the evening, however, it's always nice to do the church so as those unable to see the play in pubs get chance to see tradition in action during the day.
As usual all this was accompanied by the usual evening of traditional music and song, and proceeding the performance, 'sing-a-round' sessions organised by Lymm Folk Club.
This year our intended recipient for our collections is the Trafford and South West Manchester Group of the MS Society, a group we have donated to many times in the last 40 years.
Full details of the evenings, where we went and how it went down, are available through the various links above. This page updated: 11th November 2019.
