Details for the 2004 season

The Warburton Souling Play was once again performed in and around the Warburton area of Cheshire during the first week of November 2004. The season attempted to follow the success of the previous one in 2003, the 25th year since the Play was revived and considered by most participants and observers to have been the best year so far. The assessment was that it did quite well at that, not only from a collection point of view, which was the best yet, but from the fact that the Gang this year had the use of a 'people carrier', or rather a 'Gang carrier' whose use was made available by the Enterer, Chris Martin, with driving kindly provided by our sober Doctor, Mark Seyler. Beelzebub of course found this facility very much to his liking!!

As mentioned in other pages, in former years the performers of the Play would generally be out to collect as much as they could to help see them through the winter. This year, as in previous years of our revival, the funds collected are offered forward to a Charity. This year the charity is Francis House Children's' Hospice in Didsbury and a cheque for £725 has been sent to them as a result of this years collections.

The dates and areas we did were:
Monday 1st November, Warburton & Dunham
Wednesday 3rd November, Agden & Lymm
Thursday 4th November,
Hollinfare, Carrington & Urmston
