The 2012 season of the
Warburton Souling Play has been and gone, Sigh....
The
play has been performed for another year thus ensuring it's survival
and all we've to do now is to present the money collected at the end of
each performance to our nominated charity for this year. This is the
Trafford branch of the Multiple Sclerosis Society, a charity that we
have periodically donated our collections too ever since the play was
revived in 1978.
We started with our first night of 2012
at,.... you've
guessed it, The Saracen's Head in Warburton. We then took the play out
on the following two nights of this first week, the 2nd, 3rd November
followed by Thursday 8th, Friday
9th then finishing on Saturday 10th
November. This last Saturday included the usual
performance
at Warburton Autumn Fair in St Werburg's Church followed by a
number
of venues in the area finishing at the Saracens Head at 9.30pm. It
was a splendid evening in the Saracen's Head, the fullest it's been for
a good few years, and as well as the usual people we see that evening
there were plenty of new faces there as well. This was followed by the
usual supper
and then an evening of music and song, in all a very fitting end to the
year.
Where we went to can be seen on the Itinerary page and photographs and a description of the various evenings can be found using the Performances and Gallery links above left.
